2013 AZTEC CHALLENGE
The Aztec challenge is a 8 team pool play softball tournament. There will be
two pools of four teams. The dates of play will be March 12, 14, 19 and 22.
That is Tuesday, Thursday, Tuesday, Friday. The fee for the tournament is $50.
FORMAT
The first three games will be pool play. The fourth game is scheduled based on
your record in pool play. The top teams from each pool will play in a
championship game, second vs. second and so on. Ties in the standings will be broken
as follows: head to head record, least runs allowed, most runs allowed then
coin flip. In each pool play game, junior varsity teams will play the same
opponent as in the varsity tournament, they will play a fourth game at the same site as their varsity team.
SITES
All teams will host one or two home games in pool play. The fourth games site
will be determined before the tournament begins. The teams in the first bracket will host all final gamess
DETAILS
All umpires are scheduled by the host school. Host team will supply two balls
for each game. Trophies will be awarded for first and second place. Please return completed contract by June 10, 2012 to guarantee your place in the tournament. If you have any questions, contact Jeff Nadeau, Head Coach La Quinta High School.

All JV Teams will travel with their Varsity teams based on the Varsity rankings for each pool.

1. All JV teams will travel with or be home with their varsity teams.
2. The final game for each school, JV will play according to the results of their varsity team and play at the corresponding varsity site.
3. Please make sure home teams schedule umpires and have two game balls for each varsity and JV game.
4. All final games will be at the Gold Bracket sites so we can order umpire ahead of time.
Tie breakers for the final game will be:
- Team record. 5. Coin flip
- Head to head
- Least runs allowed.
- Most runs scored.
