CTE Pathways » Overview

Overview

La Quinta High School offers five Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs:

  • Business Management
  • Biotechnology
  • Software & Systems Development (Computer Science)
  • Cybersecurity
  • Design Visual & Media Arts
CTE courses are offered during the regular school day, before or after school, and during the summer. These courses prepare students for post-secondary college and careers in various industry sectors.

CTE pathways are designed to prepare students for postsecondary education and training and to help them make a smooth transition into the workforce. Students have the opportunity to earn college credit, gain industry certifications, experience an internship, and more.

Several of the CTE pathways include Dual Enrollment courses, meaning students have the opportunity to earn high school and college credit simultaneously. La Quinta High School partners with Coastline College and Golden West College to offer these CSU and/or UC transferrable courses.
