La Quinta Choral Department
The La Quinta Choral Department has a long history of excellence, community, and artistry. This year, Mrs. Darlene Machacon is proud to be LQ’s newest choral director and is excited to continue to shape students from musical learners to musical leaders through performance opportunities and community music making.
Choir Offerings - 2022-2023
Aztec Chorale (1st period) - entry-level group, no audition required
Concert Choir (4th period) - intermediate-level group, audition required
Vocal Ensemble (5th period) - advanced-level group, audition required
All LQ singers prepare for four concerts for the school in the newly-built Performing Arts Center - a fall concert, a winter concert, a spring concert, and an end-of-the-year pop concert. Singers may also have the opportunity to perform for the surrounding communities.
No one is allowed to say, “But I can’t sing” to Mrs. Machacon - music is for everyone, and singing is for anyone and everyone!
