The La Quinta High School Badminton program has had great success over the last several years. Anchored by a consistent coaching staff the last eight years, the team has won league titles in 2004, 2005, 2007, and 2009 and will continue to work hard to have more success in the future.. As we encourage players to work hard and have fun, we won't forget about their number one goal is their education, which we consistency reminding them to focus on.
With a common goal, the team strives every year to win league and go deep into the playoffs both as individuals and as a team. In 2007, the team had it's greatest success since the late 1970s. The team finished 15-0 overall and brought back the league title to La Quinta. The team played well late in the season and rode that momentum throughout the Division I team championships where they defeated league rival Garden Grove in finals 11-8. In individual play, senior Jamie Subandhi became a triple crown winner, winning girls singles for the third consecutive year and was runner up for mixed doubles.
This year's team not only met their goals, but have raised the bar for the upcoming season.
The team's recipe for success has been simple and consistent:
