Cross Country Summer Camp 2026:
Cross country summer camp practices will begin June 8th from 8:30 am - 10 am at the picnic benches at Mile Square Park with a roof over them. Use this link for a video for how to drive there from La Quinta.

Bring running shoes, clothes to run in, a watch, and a water bottle.
Before starting practice for any summer camp you will need to fill out a Summer High School Sports Camps Registration form, which you can get from the La Quinta office. The cost is $50 for the summer camp (each camp) and the form and money get turned in to the La Quinta bookstore. It would be best to do this before school ends on May 27th. Here is a picture of the top of the form so that you know what it looks like:

The first week, June 8 - 12 we will have practice Mon. - Fri. from 8:30 - 10 am. After that we will have 2 more weeks of practice Mon-Fri (plus an optional Sat. run) before all of LQ takes its CIF-mandated "dead period" (no-practice) from June 28-July 12. Practices will resume after that and be from 8:30am - 10:30 am Mon-Sat, but we understand that you may not be able to attend every practice.
You don't need any prior experience to join the summer camp, but if you are able to do some runs on your own (or with a friend!) before then it will help your body adjust more quickly. If you are new to running, start with runs of 10-15 minutes (20 min. max), and don't worry about running fast. What is most important right now is building up endurance. If you can't do any running before June 8th you can still come and start with us then.
Please send me an email if you have questions. We look forward to meeting you and having another successful cross country season.
School Year Schedule:
During the school year, weekday practices will begin during 6th period and be done by 4:30 pm. Saturday practice times will depend on location and carpool requirements.
What to Bring to Practice:
Every practice you should bring good running shoes, water, a watch, a positive attitude, and good work ethic. Make sure you are hydrating throughout the day.
