Study this powerpoint Physics of the Bow and Arrow to help you with your efficiency lab.

Due:

Assignment

For the analysis of the Energy Lab let y1 the motion detector y-position value where the Force on the Force meter F=0. Make a spreadsheet column for x=y1-y. Plot x vs F and curve fit it. integrate the curve fit polynomial then make a column using this spring potential energy. Add in gravitational PE and Kinetic energy.

Due:

Watch the MIT lecture (take notes)

Lecture 11: Work - Kinetic Energy - Potential Energy - Conservative Forces - Conservation of Mechanical Energy - Newton's Law of Universal Gravitation

Study Chapters 7 and 8 in your text

Complete(at home or in the computer lab) and write up the Orbit Simulation Lab in your Lab Journal.

Do (in class, before or after school ) the Energy Lab .

Due:

Assignment

For the past two weeks we've been working on dynamics problems and labs.
Your lab journal should be complete with results for the coffee filter lab, the incline lab, and the mass of a washer Atwood lab.Your notebook should have the solved dynamics problems from the last assignments as well as lecture notes from Dr. Lewin's Dynamics Lectures. Monday you took the first dynamics test. This week we'll study the dynamics of circular motion  and you will take notes on
as well as solve
You will also complete the "Buzz Light Year Lab".

Due:

Assignment

Monday you will take a quiz on 1D and 2D while I check your video lecture notes as well as progress in your Lab Journals. By Friday you will have studied the chapter on dynamic in your text as well as taken video notes on Dr Lewin's Dynamics lectures ( Newton's Law's, Weight and Friction) You will be an expert at applying the V.I. method posted in class. In class we and at home you will complete Dynamics problems. You will work on two video capture dynamics labs ( Inclined frictionless track (attached below )and Friction Fall)

Due:

Assignment

Monday we will introduce motion measurement instrumentation: Sonic Ranger, Photogate timer, and video capture. You will download Tracker video Capture and use it to expand your pendulum investigation as well as analyse the motion of a projectile.  Demonstrations will lead us into more advanced (calculus based 1d and 2d)  kinematics . In class and at home you will work on Adv Kinematics Probs 1 - 25  by Wednesday and Adv Kinematics Probs 26 - 35 by Friday. Also at home watch Lectures 3 and 4 by Friday.

Due:
