1.What impact, if any, do you think Kennan’s experience as a Civil Service officer in the Soviet Union had upon his argument?

- Vichy France – Supported the Nazis in Battle of Britain. The Free French forces helped Britain.

- United States – Transferred 50 American destroyers to the British navy and loaned it money for defense.
- Poland – Four squadrons of Polish pilots fought for the British.
- Switzerland – remained neutral, but continued defense plans.
