1.What impact, if any, do you think Kennan’s experience as a Civil Service officer in the Soviet Union had upon his argument?
2.Kennan argued that the Soviet political philosophy included four main beliefs. In your words, what were they? Given what you know about the Soviet experience prior to 1947, do you agree with Kennan’s characterization? Why or why not?

Evaluate the decisions of European countries in reaction to German aggression and expansion prior to and at the outbreak of WWII. Below are the results for the last event if you didn't finish them all in class and I've attached the directions for your evaluation below.   • Great Britain – 3 month long battle. Won the Battle of Britain.
  • Vichy France – Supported the Nazis in Battle of Britain. The Free French forces helped Britain.
  • Soviet Union – Supported Britain, but did not participate.
  • United States – Transferred 50 American destroyers to the British navy and loaned it money for defense.
  • Poland – Four squadrons of Polish pilots fought for the British.
  • Switzerland – remained neutral, but continued defense plans.
