Spanish 2 (Period 5) Assignments

Purpose of the Course The purpose of this course is 1) to communicate effectively in a language other than English; 2) to continue developing a broad vocabulary that will assist students in their transition into the next level of Spanish; 3) to foster a better understanding of the relationship between Hispanic culture and the American culture; and 4) to provide students with an opportunity to reflect on their own culture as they intersect with other cultures. Course Objectives/Foreign Language Goals Upon completion of this course, Spanish students will demonstrate knowledge in: 1.Communicating in a language other than English. 2.Understanding the value of the Hispanic culture and its correlation with the American culture. 3.Connecting with other disciplines and acquiring information through the Spanish language. 4.Developing insight into own language and culture through comparisons with the culture studied. 5.Participating in the various multilingual and multicultural communities at school and beyond the school walls.
