Greetings! My name is Melissa Dela-Xiong, and I am the teacher librarian and parent and family engagement teacher at La Quinta High School. I am thrilled to be back on the very same campus from which I graduated. Before I returned to my alma mater at the beginning of 2013, I worked at Santiago High School (GGUSD) for almost a decade.

As a teacher librarian, I enjoy working with all of our students, staff members, and community members in order to address the literary and technological needs at our school site. If you ever have any questions, concerns, suggestions, etc., please do not hesitate to e-mail me at [email protected].

In terms of my educational background, I possess a Bachelor's Degree in Child Development/Family Studies, a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and a Preliminary Administrative Services Credential from California State University Long Beach, as well as a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science and a Library Media Services Credential from San Jose State University.

In my spare time, I enjoy going on adventures with my daughter, dancing, attending various cultural events, traveling, reading (of course!), cooking, and trying new restaurants. I especially enjoy Mexican, Vietnamese, Indian, Thai, and Japanese foods.

I am looking forward to working with you!
