Greenspace at La Quinta High School

As you are aware Modernization is replacing underground utilities throughout our schools. Utilities were shut off all summer in order to dig large trenches and most, if not all, of the greenscape was removed or died.

Due to California’s severe drought and mandatory water conservation efforts, Modernization cannot reestablish lawns and/or hydroseed unless the area is used for playing fields.

Instead, we are coordinating with Landscape Architects and M&O to develop plans to establish drought tolerant landscaping to replace these former grass areas. These plans take time and the installation is costly.
Please bear with us as we develop plans and funding for the conversion of our lawns to drought tolerant landscaping.
