Six La Quinta students from Ms. Janiec's Drawing and Painting 2 class, created a mural that has been hung in the new Appellate Courthouse in Santa Ana. The students were given a famous case from the 4th District Appellate court. They had to read the case reports and analyze and discuss the appellate court's decision. Then, they had to create a picture that would depict the case and what they had learned. The students painted a mural to depict the case of the Hessian motorcycle gang who sued Flannagan's bar because the bar would not allow them to enter while wearing their "colors". The court ruled in favor of Flannagans because their action to keep the motorcycle gang out of the bar was not an infringement of the gang's civil rights relating to gender, race or color.
