Welcome to La Quinta's Guidance Office!

The comprehensive school counseling program in the Garden Grove Unified School District is designed to ensure equity and access for all students by connecting their school counseling program to the school’s vision and the district’s strategic plan for student success. The program is founded on services that focus on academic, personal/social, and college/career readiness. All students will receive guidance in helping them form healthy goals, mindsets, and behaviors, as well as effective decision-making skills for personal growth and development. All students will have access to mental health counseling and services, as well as referrals to school-based and community resources, as needed. In addition, the school counseling program assists in the district’s vision of preparing all students to be successful and responsible citizens, who contribute and thrive in a diverse society.

The school counseling program consists of: individual/group counseling, college/career readiness, academic planning, and social-emotional support. With a data-driven focus, our school counselors deliver systematic and developmentally appropriate curriculum for postsecondary readiness and success. School counselors assist in closing opportunity gaps to improve student achievement, attendance, and discipline, resulting in students being prepared for lifelong success.

GGUSD school counselors will help every student overcome barriers to learning, and develop academic and personal skills, and prepare students for lifelong success.
