Parent Power School

La Quinta is happy to run this very successful and powerful parent program once more for the 2011-2012 school year. We have had a great parent turnout and satisfying testimonials. Our Liaisons will hold presentations once a month on a Wednesday/Thursday in languages English, Spanish and Vietnamese on various topics such as Academic/Studying/Testing expectations, Understanding Grades, Drugs and Gangs, Internet Safety, and plenty more.

By clicking here, you can view the various dates/times/topics and Liaison contact information.  You can also find the PPS meeting information in your child's school daily planner. A Teleparent message will be sent to your home a week before every meeting as a reminder. We strongly encourage you to be involved in your child's education. You will gain so much knowledge to help your child be successful in school by attending these parent meetings.

Back to School Night

Back to School Night will be held this year on Wednesday, September 28th, 2011. It is an opportunity for parents to visit La Quinta in the evening, meet their child's teachers, and learn about the classes and curriculum. Parents receive an announcement each fall about our upcoming Back to School Night event.

Back on Track (9th grade "danger of failing" students ONLY)

Back on Track is held once every school year for the parents of students who are failing one or more required classes. We guide our parents with useful information on how to help their child get Back on Track in time to pass their classes successfully before the end of the semester.  Selected Parents will be notified of this meeting via Teleparent or by receiving a personal call at home with specific location and times. Students are selected according to their 1st Quarter Grade Report.

Open House

Open House will be held this year on Wednesday, March 21st, 2012. This is an opportunity for parents to visit La Quinta, talk to teachers, see student work, and find out more about their child's daily school experience.

PTSSO

Become a part of La Quinta's Parent Teacher Student Staff Organization (PTSSO) by attending our monthly meetings in which resources and support to improve the school are provided. ALL parents and students are welcome to join. More information on meeting dates and how you can contribute to the community on our PTSSO Link.
