*PARENT POWER SCHOOL
La Quinta is happy to run this very successful and powerful program once more for the 2009-2010 school year. We started the program in 2008 with a turnout of about 250 parents and continuing with about 200 parents this year. Our Liaisons hold various topic presentations once or twice a month in languages English, Spanish, and Vietnamese on topics such as Expectations on academics/studying/testing/education, Understanding Grades, Drugs and Gangs, Internet Safety, and plenty more. The meetings are usually held on Wednesday and Thursday evenings and Thursday mornings. You're involvement can make a big difference in your child's education.

PRINCIPAL'S NIGHT
The purppose of the Parent Advisory Group is to provide input and advice on the latest trends and activities in La Quinta. Our Principal, Mrs. Milner, is in attendance to speak to parents and answer questions. Refreshments are served and all parents are welcome! If you're interested in participating, please contact the principal's secretary at (714)663-6315. Principal Nights are held in the 200 Lyceum from 6:00pm-7:00pm on some Thursday evenings. You can view the dates on your child's Daily Planner.

BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT
Back to School Night is held every fall during the third week of September. It is an opportunity for parents to visit La Quinta in the evening, meet their child's teachers, and learn about the classes and curriculum. Parents recieve an announcement each fall about our upcoming Back to School Night event.

BACK ON TRACK
Back on Track is held once every school year for the parents of students who are failing one or more required classes. We guide our parents with useful information on how to help their child get Back on Track in time to pass his/her classes succesfully before the end of the semester. Parents are notified of this meeting via Teleparent or by recieving a personal call at home. Students are selected according to their 1st Quarter Grade Report.


OPEN HOUSE
Open House is held every spring during the second week of March. This is also an opportunity for parents to visit La Quinta, talk to teachers, see student work, and find out more about their child's daily school experience.
