Varsity Head Coach

Jeff Nadeau

Coach Nadeau has been teaching and coaching at La Quinta for fourteen years. He has been coaching varsity softball for eleven years. He also coaches freshman football and coached junior varsity basketball at La Quinta for four years.

Coach Nadeau taught and coached for eight years at Santa Margarita High School before coming to La Quinta. At Santa Margarita, he coached freshman football, junior varsity girls basketball, junior varsity and varsity softball.

Prior to his teaching career, Coach Nadeau coached freshman football at Fountain Valley High School and junior varsity softball and girls basketball at Mater Dei High School.

Varsity Assistant Coaches

Dave Austin

Coach Austin returns to the Aztecs for his seventh season as assistant head coach and pitching coach. He has an extensive baseball background. Coach Austin was the head baseball coach at Los Amigos, Costa Mesa (his alma mater) and JV baseball at La Quinta for one year before joining the softball coaching staff. His enthusiasm is highly appreciated by the entire softball program.

Trish Maier
Trish is an amazing presence at La Quinta and has been helping with the softball program for eight years.

Keisha Mattinson
Keisha was a four year starter at La Quinta and is currently in her sixth year as an assistant coach.

Coach Funai is coaching junior varsity softball in addition to his duties as Head Coach of our Varsity Girls Basketball team.
