CSUF Scholarship Opportunities

Future Scholars Program

This award was established by the CSU Scholarship Program in an effort to increase college participation of disadvantaged students.

Scholarship Deadline:  March 26, 2014

Award Amount: $1,500

Open to: All first-time freshmen/first-time transfer students who meet regular CSUF admission requirements as a new CSU freshman or transfer student. Scholarship is open to anyone regardless of residency status.

Criteria: 2.5 GPA, significant contributions to school and community and financial need

Application Procedure: 1) Contact Future Scholars Office at [email protected] or by phone at (657) 278-7670 to receive an application; 2) Applicants must have applied for financial aid ( if eligible) by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or DREAM application; and 3) Submit the Future Scholars application via email or fax.

Scholarship Requirements: Recipients of this award must adhere to the following: 1) Attend Fall and Spring Scholarship orientation/ meeting 2) Meet for academic planning twice per semester; 3) Meet with assigned faculty/staff mentor once a week per semester; 4) Meet with assigned peer mentor twice a month; 5) Attend three student success workshops per semester 6) Submit a grade card per semester. 7) Attend Networking Mixer and Scholar Resource Fair

Selection Process: Applicants go through an initial screening process based on the minimum requirements for GPA, graduation requirement, and incomplete application. FTF who pass initial screening are factored based on application risk index rubric (see attached). FTT are factored based on the same rubric with the exceptions of SAT/ACT scores. Once applicants are scored, the applications are distributed among the Future Scholars Selection committee. This committee is comprised of member of the Future Scholars Committee. Three different members of the selection committee must read each application.


The EOP AB 540 Book Scholarship

The EOP department established the AB 540 Book Scholarship at California State University, Fullerton, to assist with the cost of books for students considered to be AB 540 students

Scholarship Deadline:  April 11, 2014

Award Amount: $500

Open to: First-time freshman/first-time transfer students and continuing CSUF students who meet the AB 540 criteria

Criteria: 2.0 GPA, significant contributions to school and community and financial need.(AB 540 eligibility to be determined by Admissions and Records office).

TELACU/Cal State Fullerton Scholars

The TELACU/Cal State Fullerton partnership awards up to fifteen $1,500 scholarships to individuals from all academic backgrounds; however, special consideration is given to students in Business and S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) majors. Graduating high school seniors and current college students are eligible to apply.
