Dear La Quinta High School Parent/Guardian, As the principal of La Quinta High School I would like to welcome you to the 2011/12 school year! Whether you are a parent of a continuing student at our school or a new student, I am looking forward to meeting you and working with you to make this school year a successful and rewarding one for your child. The tradition of excellence continues at La Quinta High School, and it always exciting to think ahead about the accomplishments I know our students will achieve this coming school year. Despite the budget concerns statewide, a very committed La Quinta staff is preparing to welcome and serve both you and your child(ren). We are so fortunate to have the quality teachers and support staff at La Quinta that will make all the difference educationally for your family. This year is a significant one for La Quinta. Our staff has been preparing for our WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) accreditation and we will be visited by a team of educators for three days in February of 2012. You will continue to hear more about this important process, and will appreciate the support of our parents and community as we plan and prepare. In addition, two new assistant principals are joining our administrative team from within the Garden Grove School District. I would like to extend a hearty Aztec welcome to Assistant Principals Matt Lambert and Loan Sriruksa, and at the same time wish Assistant Principals Erin Lara and Mark Nguyen well as they begin new administrative assignments at their new schools. Parent involvement is a critical component of a successful student…..and a successful school. I urge you to become involved in your child’s education by joining one of the many parent support groups available on campus. That involvement could be through an athletic or music booster club. I also invite you to join and become involved in our La Quinta Parent Association or Parent Power School. Before you know it your child(ren) will be graduating, so I encourage you to stay involved with them in high school as they prepare for their college and career as well as that critical transition into young adulthood. Please be sure to read all the registration materials for more information on how you can stay connected to our school. When you come to campus, I hope that you will take a moment to introduce yourself to me. If you are new to LQHS, I look forward to seeing you at the New Student Orientation on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 6:30 pm in the gym. I hope to see all of you, new and returning, at our Back to School Night on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011. If you have any questions about our school, please feel free to contact us between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm at (714) 663-6315. Best wishes for a great school year. GO AZTECS!! Sincerely,
