2006 - Ashley Truong five time medalist in 2006-2007 Orange County Academic Decathlon, fourth place overall individual score.
2006 - Catherine Vu Policy Debate State Finalist.
2006 - Greg Greene Policy Debate State Finalist.
2006 - John Hill received Baseball Scholarship to Long Beach State. 1st Team All-League Varsity Baseball
2006 - Frankie Bautista named 1st Team All-League and 2nd Team All-CIF Varsity Baseball.
2006 - Tony Arroyo named 1st Team All-League Varsity Baseball.
2006 - Nick Capito named 1st Team-All League Varsity Baseball.
2006 - Music Department goes to Hawaii to perform at the 65th Anniversary at Pearl Harbor.
2006 - 150+ kids taking Algebra II/Trig Honors. Four years ago there were only 60 kids.
2006 - Jim Perry named Athletic Director of the Year for the State of California.
2006 - Jamie Baker named CMEA Music Teacher of the Year, Southern Section.
2006 - Business Banquet and Certificate program, more than 100 students receive awards, including both and Accounting and an Entrepreneurship certificates.
2006 - Charlie Hang, Bryant Ho and Anthony Hoang finished first place in the Western Region
Stock Market Game.
2006 - Joseph Methvin, Eric Phan, and Victor Lopez placed second in the Western Region Stock Market Game.
2006 - Duc Tran, Brian Torres, and Marvin Varela came in third place in the Western Region Stock Market Game.
2006 - Cork Snider was selected as one of the Top 20 AP Math Teachers in the Western Region.
2006 - La Quinta scored 822 on its Academic Performance Index, the highest score in the Garden
Grove Unified School District.
2005 - Kerri Weisenberger honored for Outstanding Contribution to Education by the Orange County Board of Education and Superintendent of Schools.
2006 - Aztec Marching Band earned 1st Place in the Huntington Beach Field Show, Westminster Field Show, and Outstanding Solo/Ensemble Award in the Canyon Field Show.
2006 - Dennis Geub named to the Tournament of Roses Honor Band for the 2nd year.
2006 - Highest rating possible at the GGHS Music Festival.
2005 - Color Guard earned Sweepstakes Performance at the Huntington Beach Field Show.
2005 - Aztec Marching Band earned High Music Award at the Huntington Beach Field Show.
2005 - Color Guard took 1st Place at the Westminster Field Show.
2005 - Orchestra was invited to perform at Disneyland.
2006 - Varsity Baseball team won the Garden Grove League Championship for the 14th year in a row. CIF Quarter-Finalists.
2005 - Brandon Laird selected 2nd Team All-American. Drafted by Cleveland Indians.
2006 - La Quinta was awarded for the fifth straight year Title 1 Achievement Award by the State of California.
2006 - Jamie Subandhi CIF Champion in Badminton Singles.
2006 – Ninety-one percent of La Quinta tenth graders passed the math section of the High School Exit Exam and 89% passed the English section.
2006 - Two students’ photos were displayed in the Color It Orange Art Show.
2005 - Orchestra performed at the CMEA State Music Convention.
2005 - State ranked La Quinta “9” on a scale of “10” based upon a review of Statewide Academic
Performance of all high schools.
2006 – Nine students’ artwork was displayed in the 1,000 Pieces of Art Exhibit at South Coast Plaza
2006 - Amanda Hoang and Thao Dau participated in the All District Art Exhibit at South Coast Plaza’s Imagination Celebration Gallery.
2006 – Eight students’ art work was selected for exhibition in the Laguna Festival of Arts, which represents the very best of Orange County’s high school student work.
2006 - Truong Nguyen earned 2nd place in the GGUSD Baccalaureate Design Contest.
2006 - Girls Varsity Volleyball team won the Garden Grove League Championship.
2006 - Girls Varsity Tennis Doubles won the Garden Grove League Championship.
2006 - Girls Volleyball, Boys Water Polo, Girls Tennis, Cross Country, and
Boys and Girls Basketball participated in CIF playoffs
2007 – Fourty-six students participated in First Impressions.
